Sunwhite® Calrose Rice is an oval medium-grain white rice known for its quality and taste. When cooked, Calrose rice becomes soft and tender with a tendency to stick together due to its succulent grains, allowing it to retain its moisture. Sunwhite® Calrose Rice is used in dishes that require a bit more creaminess as well as a side dish to compliment almost every meal. Its versatility means that it can be used in everything from starters and soups to desserts. For best results, rinse this rice with cold water. Drain well before cooking. Ingredients to serve:

  • 2 cup All-Purpose Flour

  • 2 Eggs (beaten)

  • 140 g Marie Cookies (finely ground)

  • Canola Oil (for frying)

  • Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture (to taste)

  • 1 cup Whole Milk

  • 170 g Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

  • 1 tbsp Sugar

  • 1 pinch Salt

  • 1 cup Sunwhite Medium Grain Rice

  • 2½ cup Whole Milk

  • ½ cup Water

  • ½ cup Sugar

  • ¼ tsp Salt

  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks

  • ½ cup Sweetened Condensed Milk

Medium Grain

White medium grain rice is a round, tender and succulent grain, allowing it to lock in moisture when it is cooked. This rice is often used in dishes that require a bit more creaminess, like paella or risotto. It is also ideal in your favourite Middle Eastern, Korean and Spanish dishes.

Method

  • Rice pudding:

    Heat up your taste buds with this creamy and flavorful rice pudding! In a saucepan, mix rice, milk, water, sugar, salt, and cinnamon sticks. Cover and bring to a boil, then simmer for 25 minutes.

  • Simmer for 25 minutes and add the sweetened condensed milk. Simmer slowly for an additional 10 minutes and cool immediately.

  • Arancini:

    Transform your rice pudding mixture into round balls.

  • Dip each ball of rice pudding in the flour, then the eggs, and lastly in the ground cookies.

  • Chill your coated balls on a sheet tray for at least an hour or overnight.

  • Fill saucepan 2-3 inches deep in canola oil and bring up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Fry for approximately 3 minutes or until golden brown and warmed through.

  • Drain and add a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar for extra flavor.

  • For the finishing touch, mix milk, chocolate chips, sugar, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil, then simmer for 3-4 minutes.

  • Serve the hot chocolate sauce immediately and get ready for the ultimate taste experience!
