Okra with meat and vermicelli rice

This is a version of Bamia – a Lebanese dish made with okra and tomatoes. Served on vermicelli rice, it’s a delicious dish that’s healthy and easy to prepare.

  1. Crank up the heat and get that olive oil sizzling!

  2. Toss in some onion and garlic and let them sweat until they're crystal clear.

  3. Pop in those gorgeous Okra (no need to chop) and give everything a good stir.

  4. Add in some juicy tomato and keep stirring.

  5. Close the lid and let it cook for approximately 7 minutes, giving those flavors time to mingle.

  6. Add in all the other delicious ingredients and give it a good stir. Now, lower the heat to med-low and let it cook for another 20-25 minutes, checking in every 10 minutes or so.

  7. When everything has softened, that's when you know the Okra is good to go.

  8. Serve with vermicelli rice for the perfect pairing.
